Pixel 8 family runs pure Android — no surprises. Two-step setup.

One-time setup

1. Tetracom → gear → Connection → Stay connected when phone is locked → ON.
2. Android Settings → Apps → Tetracom → App battery usage → Unrestricted.

That’s it. Pixels don’t need the Sleeping-apps / auto-optimize / autostart dance that Samsung and Xiaomi require. Stock Android’s foreground-service contract is enforced cleanly.

Pixel 8 quirks

Pixel Buds Pro audio routing — Tetracom plays through them?

Yes. The Buds Pro register as standard Bluetooth headphones. For PTT they’ll switch to HFP mode for the duration of your press, then back to A2DP for music. Same as any other Bluetooth headset.

Tensor G3 + thermal throttling — Tetracom keeps connected during heavy use?

Yes. Tetracom’s WS keepalive is ~2 KB/min and uses essentially no CPU; thermal throttling on the G3 doesn’t affect it. The PTT-record + encryption path is also lightweight (~10 ms total CPU per blurt).

Quick Tap (back-of-phone double-tap) — can I bind PTT?

Not yet. Tetracom doesn’t register a Quick Tap action. PTT remains finger-on-screen.
